Family Adventures in Seattle

Last week I traveled to the Pacific Northwest for the wedding of a dear friend. Due to the time of year at the deli, my window was very small. Mr. Man was not able to come along, despite also being a good friend of the bride.

My father and brother live in eastern Washington, so we connected to explore a bit of Seattle on the way. I have not seen either of them in a very long time, so I hold this time very close to my heart.

Seattle is full of public art, vibrant scenery and nice people. We spent most of our time doing the typical tourist thing. Being my first real visit, I was perfectly ok with it. We went to the wharf, space needle, music museum, a couple of great local restaurants, and a few good bars. Happy to say I bought my brother a beer for the first time (he is 21). The city is walkable and relaxed. It is the first time since moving to Maine, where the laid-back west coast vibe was super prevalent to me.

The city showed me enough, to make me want more. I look forward to another visit, with less time constraints.

This was the first trip the three of us have ever have taken. Truly a moment to capture, if ever there were any.

In my life I am always independent, the care-taker and controller of plans. During this trip I went with the flow. I hitched a ride to the ferry with my dad and brother. As I thanked them and said my farewells, being out of control felt so free. I boarded a giant boat alone and set sail to a fairytale wedding in the San Juan Islands.
