“Sometimes it takes a good fall to really know where you stand”
― Hayley Williams
In life falling down is often considered the worst possible fate. We are culturally driven to go and succeed. To continue when we are tired, and never complain. But why is falling so bad? When you are a little kid falling serves as a fundamental lesson. Maybe you shouldn’t climb so high or ride you bike so fast, but maybe you wouldn’t have seen the view from the top of the tree or felt the wind in you hair if you hadn’t risked falling. And while you may grow afraid of falling after years of bumps and bruises, getting back up is the single lesson you need to truly suceed and be happy in life.
While falling equals failing in the eyes of most. In reality falling means that you tried, you went for something, you gave your heart to someone. You cannot fall unless you really put yourself out there. Just don’t stay down because you will become covered with leaves, dirt and eventually snow. The world will forget your beauty and tenacity. Get back up, dust the dirt off you knees, glue the pieces of your self back together, and use some super glue. Don’t worry about the cracks, they make you more interesting . The world is waiting for you.

This week while capturing ‘The Fall’ my lurking Clyde was constantly checking to see if I would get up again, and make sure I was ok. True to the lesson, he wants me to get up. Always remember that those that truly care about you, will always want you to stand tall. And your strength in any given hardship may give someone else the courage to get back up and face the day, whether you realize it or not.
