Falling for fall. 🍁🍂♥️ After a very bu Falling for fall. 🍁🍂♥️

After a very busy few months of work and projects, felt real good to slow the pace this weekend, get out and enjoy this beautiful home zone of mine, and soak in the subtle changing of the seasons.

So much to be learned from the visceral shifts in the natural world around us. Perspective on what’s past, letting go of what’s no longer needed, and of course, looking forward to what is ahead.❄️⛄️
Sausalito Boat Show 2024 through my eyes. The best Sausalito Boat Show 2024 through my eyes. The best industry, full of friends that feel like home. I’m lucky to have landed here. ⚓️☺️☀️

If you are gonna work hard, you might as well have If you are gonna work hard, you might as well have a good time doing it. For those that know me well, this is how I always try to roll.

So proud to be a part of the grassroots effort to bring the Sausalito Boat show to life this past weekend. Thanks to whole team, and everyone who supported.

Also, someone snagged my skate during load out. 👀 I would be very happy to be reunited, but if not— it was the perfect way to cover lots of ground this boat show weekend.
This week we installed a new sculpture in the Pond This week we installed a new sculpture in the Pondorado Roundabout in Camino.

This project was solely funded by the support of our community. I think that speaks volumes to the type of community we have. It’s a very special place.

After having her business stifled due to the Caltrans improvement project (fixing the highest fatality stretch of highway in CA) my mom @terriebennettsculpture approached @edcdistrict_3 with the idea to put a piece of art in the roundabout. From there a committee was formed, and this sculpture you see was actually the 3rd designs concept she developed over the nearly 2 process.

This design includes 4 panels that pay homage to our communities roots: past, present and future. I was tasked with the job of taking the design concept, artist sketches and elements the community wanted to see represented into digital format. I spent a lot of long nights on my computer this summer working on these designs. It was one of the most challenging digital design projects I have ever worked on, including desired elements, balancing positive and negative space, and learning a new language for CNC metal cutting.

Working along side my mom on projects like these is really cool. Doing it a mile from where I was born, and where she started her sculpting career 42 years ago, takes it into a whole new realm.

It was also through spending time here working on this project, that I decided I wanted to buy a house in Camino and put down roots in this community where it all started. And, now I live here, once again.❤️

If you are visiting the area this harvest season, I hope you will take the Camino Heights exit, and take a moment to drive around and enjoy El Dorado counties newest piece of public art. My family has been in the art business in the county as long as I have been alive, and it’s great to see art being embraced publicly. An all around full circle moment for this girl (and my mama too!)

Big thanks to @edcdistrict_3 @artsandcultureeldorado all of the committee members, Bob Kobervig, Doug Veerkamp General Engineering, BOS and El Dorado County. Also, thank you to each one of the donors who trusted us with this project and helped bring it to life.
Postcards from Maine pt. 1 💙🌊✨ Time spent Postcards from Maine pt. 1 💙🌊✨

Time spent exploring the coastline, the islands of Casco Bay and points further north were a highlight of my 7 years living in coastal Maine. Also, a highlight of my first trip back in many years.

The lifestyle that is lived during Maine summers is hard to beat. It’s special in so many ways, and was one of the hardest things to say goodbye to when I headed West.

The trauma I experienced in the place caused to me to block out much of this chapter in my life. It was special to return and remember all the good that also existed during this tumultuous time. It also provided me the perspective to see that I have taken much of what I loved about living in Maine and cultivated that in my life in California.

Amidst the broken fragments, there were slivers of gold, and now they shine brightly in new ways. I have a lot of gratitude for what this place gave me, and continues to give me through its beauty and healing life lessons. Thanks for the hospitality and letting me re-remember with a bit more rose color on my lenses.
