Everybody Loves a Good Tug

I am officially on vacation in California. I truly did Un-plug from the blog, much longer than I anticipated. Last week in Maine was busier than I expected. I was planning on updating and sharing the process from the large events we catered, but it was a gauntlet. I was in bed late, and up before dawn. I will say we successfully executed 4 large all days events, and one large dinner event. It was stressful, and long. I almost cried many times. My team was amazing, and Mr. Man’s mom was more than helpful to me every step of the way. As soon as the deli closed on Friday, my man rushed me to the airport, in time to barely make my flight, which ended up being delayed for four hours…but that is a story for another day.

This post happens to be a week late, but this was our trip to the Lobster and Tug boat races in Portland on August 18. It is quiet a spectacle. If you ever have the opportunity to attend a boat race like this, then I highly recommend you do. Watching large boats race is pretty incredible.  The boats race in category, which I can only assume is classified by size. The races end with the big ole tug boats, and they leave quiet the wake in their path. There are some beautiful boats out there, and some silly boats, and then some really huge boats.

In the current edition of Maine magazine there is an article entitled  ‘Everybody loves a good Tug’ (boat that is), about the races. I enjoyed the title, and also the races, and especially these extra large boats. I look forward to seeing them again next year. Now off to enjoy some quality time with mama.
