Fall in The Woods

This past weekend we went for a 4-wheeler ride with Mr.Man’s family. It was the first time this entire season (which is quickly coming to an end) that we have joined them for a ride. These trips usually include riding with many stops to chat, snack, hike around and of course take pictures. The trail was nice, with a good balance of rocky terrain and smooth roads. I heard the trip best summed up as us going into the woods to picnic. I can’t think of a better place to eat a picnic lunch. There were many moments that I felt I had stepped back in time. An old cabin, a rustic wood sign, remnants of a brick wall that stood many moons ago.

No photograph can really do justice to the beauty of the woods coupled with the changing of the leaves. I literally found myself in awe so many times. Growing up I was always proud that I was from the woods, so it is no wonder that I have finally found myself feeling at home here, with new woods to explore and call home. Maine really is a special place that holds on to it’s past with tight reverence. I look forward to more adventures with this man right by my side.
