Meet Laura..she is my girl. We met one fateful afternoon pouring brews in a beer tent at the Abbot Kinney festival. Soon thereafter I was transferred to her bar, the Alibi, where we worked side by side slinging drinks for droves of thirsty folks for years. We were not fast friends, but one night we bonded over too many glasses of red wine, and copious amounts of Erykah Badu, and the rest is history. She has become a sister to me. We have seen each other through a multitude of life transitions, from divorce, marriage, cross country moves, midnight meltdowns…and now my friend is making the ultimate metamorphosis into motherhood.
During my visit to LA, I spent some quality time with this gorgeous mother to be. Every time I am in town we have a tradition of spending an entire day eating, walking and people watching in Venice Beach. Laura and her husband are both hard core Angelinos (I’m pretty sure she thinks I’m an alien for leaving), so this seemed like the perfect backdrop for her maternity shots. I’m fairly positive that baby boy is gonna come out wearing purple & gold.
Laura is seriously one of the most radiantly stunning pregnant women I have ever seen, and I honestly don’t think that my bias is just because I love her to death. What a privilege to capture this time in her life! I am beyond excited for her and her husband.
I can’t wait to meet Bishop and see my girl rock it as a super rad mom.
